I’m not really supposed to be here at all. Mrs. Brown looked at the label around the bear’s neck. It said, quite simply, PLEASE LOOK AFTER THIS BEAR. THANK YOU. 布朗夫人看到小熊脖子上戴著一個(gè)標(biāo)簽，上面很簡(jiǎn)潔地寫(xiě)著：請(qǐng)照顧這只熊。謝謝。 “Oh, Henry!” she cried. “We can’t leave him here all by himself. There’s no knowing what might happen to him. Can’t he come home and stay with us?” “噢，亨利?！?她轉(zhuǎn)向丈夫，一臉懇求地說(shuō)，”我們不能就這么把他丟在這兒。誰(shuí)都不知道他會(huì)遇見(jiàn)什么事。他不能和我們一起住上一陣子嗎？” “Stay with us?” repeated Mr. Brown nervously. He looked down at the bear. “Er, would you like that?” he asked. “That is, “he added hastily, “if you have nothing else planned.” “和我們一起住？”布朗先生有點(diǎn)緊張，他對(duì)于小熊說(shuō)，“你愿意和我們住在一起嗎？”他問(wèn)道，“我是說(shuō)，”他又匆忙地加上一句，“如果你沒(méi)有別的安排的話?！? “Oh, yes, “replied the bear. “I would like that very much. I’ve nowhere to go and everyone seems in such a hurry.” 小熊激動(dòng)得跳了起來(lái)，他的帽子差點(diǎn)掉下來(lái)?！芭?，太好啦！我非常高興。我沒(méi)有地方可以去，而且每個(gè)人都看起來(lái)好匆忙?！? “That settles it” said Mrs. Brown. “Now, you must be thirsty after your journey. Mr Brown can get you some tea while I go and meet our daughter, Judy.” “那就這樣定啦?！辈祭侍f(shuō)，“現(xiàn)在你一定餓了吧，布朗先生可以在我去見(jiàn)女兒朱迪的時(shí)候帶你去吃點(diǎn)東西。” “But, Mary,” said Mr Brown. “We don’t even know his name.” “但是，瑪麗，我們還不知道小熊的名字”布朗先生回答。 Mrs. Brown thought for a moment. “I know,” she said. “We’ll call him Paddington – after the station.” 布朗太太想了一會(huì)，她高興地大聲說(shuō)道，“我知道了，我們是在帕丁頓火車站遇見(jiàn)你的，那就叫你帕丁頓吧！” “Paddington!” The bear tested it several times to make sure. “It sounds very important.” “帕丁頓！”小熊重復(fù)了好幾遍，“聽(tīng)起來(lái)這很不錯(cuò)。”
