因為當粉絲們對明星的devotion(忠誠)turns into blind loyalty(變得盲目忠誠時),they will see anyone who stands in their idol’s way as an enemy(他們會把任何妨礙他們偶像的人當作敵人),這樣的話會lead to hostility(引起敵意) rather than healthy competition(而不是健康的競爭)。
Chen Meng defeated her teammate Sun Yingsha in the women's singles final at the Paris Olympics(陳夢戰(zhàn)勝了隊友孫穎莎,在乒乓球女單決賽中成功衛(wèi)冕冠軍)。

During the match, many fans were booing when Chen lost points.
boo /bu:/ v.
Why don't they support Chen Meng?

按常理來講,兩名運動員都是中國隊的,她們應(yīng)該celebrate both of their incredible achievements(兩者之中無論誰獲勝都應(yīng)該為她們祝賀)。但因為這些粉絲are into Sun Yingsha(喜歡孫穎莎),they only see it as a win or lose situation for their favorite(他們只關(guān)注自己偶像的輸贏)。 更讓人意想不到的是,some supporters of Sun even posted aggressive comments on social media(一些孫穎莎的支持者在社交平臺上甚至還發(fā)了一些過激的言論)。

Don’t put down others just to support someone you like.
Some platforms have removed many of the inappropriate comments.
detain/d??te?n/ v. 拘留

Cyber violence(網(wǎng)絡(luò)暴力)的危害不容小覷,it can cause real harm to a person’ s mental health(它會對一個人的心理健康造成真正的傷害),can even lead to physical harm(甚至還會影響到一個人的身體健康)。希望大家都能speak kindly on the Internet,我們共同努力來maintain a good online environment(維護一個良好的網(wǎng)絡(luò)環(huán)境)。
其實不只是陳夢,樊振東和王楚欽這兩位top Chinese table tennis players(中國頂級乒乓球運動員)have also been targets of this toxic fandom culture(也是深受“飯圈文化”的影響)。
比如說樊振東,因為粉絲leaked his personal information(泄露了他的個人信息),he had to retreat from social media(他不得不退出社交媒體)。這些粉絲甚至went after his family。Involving their family(把他們的家人卷入進來) and exposing private information (暴露他們的私人信息) is even worse, and definitely illegal(非法的)!
有粉絲會follow him(跟蹤他)然后snap photos and sell them(拍照并出售)。他曾在深夜發(fā)文說:希望大家能respect each other's privacy(尊重彼此的隱私),keep our distance(保持距離),給他一些喘息的空間。

At its core, sports are about fair play, respect, and the joy of competition.
在美國,他們非常強調(diào)individualism(個人主義),這就有時候會lead to extreme behavior from fans(導(dǎo)致一些極端行為) who see their favorite athletes as heroes who must always win(認為自己喜歡的運動員是戰(zhàn)無不勝的英雄)。
Losing games is normal in competitive sports. Losing and winning are two sides of the same coin. We cheer for the winners and applaud the losers who struggle on.
運動員們都非常努力,applauding them for their effort and encouraging them to keep working hard(肯定他們的努力,并鼓勵他們繼續(xù)加油)至少是我們都能做到的。
首先,無論是對于運動員還是粉絲們,要接受winning and losing are both part of the game(輸贏都是比賽的一部分),我們應(yīng)該celebrate the effort and determination of all athletes(為所有運動員的努力和決心喝彩),而不只是為那些who come out on top(取得優(yōu)異成績的運動員而歡呼)。
要知道,competitive sports aren't just about winning games(競技體育不僅僅是關(guān)于贏得比賽),更重要的要有sportsmanship(體育精神)的存在。

這創(chuàng)造了一個積極的環(huán)境,運動員可以focus on what they do best(專注于他們做得最好的事情)。
Whether you're cheering from the stands (站臺) or watching from your couch (沙發(fā)), the way you support athletes and create a positive vibe (氛圍) really makes a difference. You're helping to keep that Olympic spirit alive and strong
