Hi~ Today I would like to share a TED speech to you guys. The title of this speech is “External is not everything, believe me, I am a model.” The speaker is Cameron, she is a model who has worked for ten years. At the beginning of the speech, Cameron stepped on high heels and wore a sexy black tight-fitting dress, but within a few seconds, she put on a loose sweater, a loose flower skirt and a pair of flat shoes. She unexpectedly changed clothes on the stage, from a sexy model wearing a tight-fitting dress to a simple and restrained woman, in less than ten seconds to change our perception of her, I was asked a question after watching this speech: How often do we take people by appearance. Then she answered some questions about the questions people often asked her. There is a sentence that makes me very profound. She said:“ Image is powerful, but also image is superficial.” I think this is why Cameron changed her clothes. The definition of the world's external appearance is superficial, and it contains too many so-called standards. We live in this blind evaluation world with some standardized aesthetics. We are said to be ugly, and we are said to be beautiful. These evaluations will make us lose our self-awareness and lose our self-confidence. So what we should do is to discover our inner needs and be the most confident person, not to be influenced by some inherent concepts.
